The following
are application directions for einszett polishes and wax products. If
you need further help, please contact us and we'd be more than happy
to help you.
Please
select:
-
Apply on paint that has been washed and dried
-
Paint should be cool to the touch and out of direct sunlight
-
Never
apply polish over entire car and then attempt to buff off. Work
only sections at a time. If you do the entire car and can't remove
the product because it has become too dry, simply apply fresh polish
over dried polish and buff off. DO NOT try to scrub dry polish off
of surface or you may scratch the surface.
-
Choose
to apply by hand
or machine.
Recommendations follow.
Hand Application
The safest
way to polish the paint finish. Using the guide below, apply with either
a foam applicator pad or cotton towel.
Foam applicator pad
Foam
applicator pads are disc shaped foam. They are very soft and durable.
They can be washed for multiple uses and they are economical. They can
be used for applying polish, wax and tire dressings.
When
to use:
When
polishing new or like-new paint finishes that have no surface issues
such as light scratches or swirl marks. Use when applying
einszett PolishWax
or
einszett Final Finish.
How:
Pour
an amount of polish about the size of a quarter onto foam pad. With
moderate pressure, polish in an up and down pattern on the paintwork
in an area approximately 3' x 3'. Work polish into the surface until
the polish nearly fades. When polish has nearly faded, buff off with
a clean microfiber towel. Continue this process, polishing the same
section size, until car is complete.
Cotton towel
Only
use a 100% cotton towel. It should be plush. Do not use the towels that
can be purchased in bulk because they are usually a blend of polyester
and cotton even though they say 100% cotton. Also, never use old t-shirts,
rags, cotton diapers or flannel to polish. They are too thin and can
scratch the surface as the polish pulls in debris into the fiber. A
quality cotton towel with thick fibers will pull debris into the base
of the towel and away from the paint.
When to use:
When
polishing paint that has surface issues such as haze (oxidation), swirl
marks or light scratches. Use when applying
einszett Paint Polish or
Extra.
How:
Pour
an amount of polish about the size of a quarter onto cotton towel. With
moderate pressure, polish in an up and down pattern on the paintwork
in an area approximately 3' x 3'. Work polish into the surface until
the polish nearly fades. When polish has nearly faded, buff off with
a clean microfiber towel.
Inspect surface to determine if correction has been achieved. If not,
repeat process until desired results are achieved. Continue process
until car is complete.
Machine Application
Applying
by machine offers the best results while being highly efficient in both
terms of time and minimized product usage. There are two types of machines.
DA Orbital
When
to use:
For the
beginner and novice.
The Dual
Action Orbital, also known as a DA, is a polishing tool that is a modified
sander with the sanding backing plate replaced with a polishing pad.
The DA offers the efficiency of a polishing machine while maintaining
the safety of hand application. This is achieved by creating an oscillating
polishing movement. This movement minimizes the heat generated which
can damage paint when applied incorrectly.
While
the DA is a step above hand application, its strength is also its weakness.
Since it does not create a lot of heat due to is oscillating movement,
it can not correct serious paint issues. Therefore, the DA is an excellent
finishing tool.
Benefits:
1) DA's
allow for more consistent results from beginning to end -- fatigue,
which is a factor in hand application, is not a factor with the DA since
the machine is doing all the work. This means that you apply the same
consistent effort throughout the entire polishing process. This translates
into better results from beginning to end.
2) Less
product is needed. The same amount of polish poured for hand application
can treat about twice as much surface area with the DA.
3) A DA reduces application time without sacrificing quality.
How:
To apply
using a DA, pour product on to either car surface or polishing pad.
With DA in "off" position, spread product on to surface--this prevents
splatter. Turn DA on and work in area approximately 3 square feet. Starting
from the top of the section working your way down, move in a side to
side motion, overlapping as you move downwards. When product dries to
a haze, wipe off with a clean microfiber towel. Inspect surface to determine
if desired correction has been achieved. Repeat process until desired
results are achieved.
Rotary Polisher
When
to use:
For the
professional. Use when major paint correction is required. Remedy issues
such as severe swirl marks, scratches and heavy oxidation. The rotary
polisher rotates a polishing pad from a direct drive creating a high
speed polishing effect which generates a high amount of heat. This is
required for major paint correction. It's also a cause of paint damage
when in the hands of an inexperienced user.
Benefits:
Corrects
severe paint issues quickly and effectively that hand application cannot
correct.
How:
NOTE: For experienced users only. Improper
use can result in damage to the paintwork.
Apply polish on paintwork surface or on pad. Start application at 900
RPMs with light pressure and increase to 1200 RPMs with moderate pressure.
Working in a 3 square foot section, start from the top and apply in
a side to side pattern moving down. Polish until polish material has
nearly faded. Wipe off with a clean microfiber towel, inspect surface
to determine if desired results have been achieved. Repeat process if
necessary.

What
you need:
-
Applicator:
Foam applicator pad or microfiber towel
-
Microfiber towel to buff off wax
With an applicator foam pad or clean microfiber towel, pour an amount
about the size of a quarter onto applicator and spread onto paintwork
surface with no pressure. Apply in a 3 square foot area at a time. Allow
wax to dry to a haze (no more than 1-3 minutes) and buff off with a
clean microfiber cloth towel. Repeat process until car is complete.
Remove
any wax residue on plastic trim.
Tip:
If you
smearing appears on dark colored cars this is a result of too much or
too little wax applied. Simply spritz the surface with water and buff
off with a clean microfiber towel. Any remaining smears will disappear
within 24 hours.
